Anova - Which company is the quickest?

EXAMPLE:

Usually before ordering a pizza we are taking into consideration few factors. Food in all 3 restaurants are equally tasty therefore delivery time is the only factor which will matter.
We have ordered pizza from the three different pizza companies - A, B and C on numerous occasions and recorded the respective delivery times.

While we expect variation across sample, we are interested in whether the differences between the pizza companies (the groups) is significantly different than what we would expect in random variation within the groups

HYPOTHESIS:

STEP I : State the null and research hypotheses.
  • H0: Means are the same - mean delivery time for all 3 companies is the same.
  • H1: Means are different - Delivery time differ between restaurants.

    STEP II : Level of significance.

    alpha = 0.05

    TESTING:

    One-Way Anova will compare the delivery time means of all 3 restaurants.

    RESULTS:

    EXPLANATION:

    Cannot Reject Null Hypothesis in favour of alternative hypothesis.

    So we have not found a significant difference in delivery times between the three pizza delivery companies
